Market research.

Weather much better today.  Sun shone the whole day.

My walk on the Prom was not long but refreshing as the breeze was coming off the North Sea.  I hope my health improves and I can start to extend the distance.

Once home I had a visit from a very nice man who shares with me two friends.  His business is Photogifts.

In the past I have purchased mugs with my paintings reproduced on them, from another company.  But, as ever, wanting to shop local.

They have been a success.  Christmas Presents and birthday gifts!  Sorted.  But also have sold quite a few.  My visitor today had lots of things to show me that I could have my images on.

Different styles of mugs, sizes and finishes, and last my favourite a tin mug!  Remember them?

He also does cushions, place mats and coasters, key rings, bags, well loads of stuff.  So here is the market research.  Which would you go for?  Imagine you are at an art exhibition or looking at an artists work but do not want or cannot afford a painting.  I would be interested and it would help if you could comment, could be none!

Our pair of Siskins.  We are hoping there are two pairs as so far we have seen this pair and another female.....  All our garden birds are now nesting and searching for grubs and insects for their chicks, but have a quick grab of some protein for themselves from our feeders.

Weather forecast for tomorrow is good. .......

I always buy cards when we have open studios here, fabric would be my next choice, tea towel size, you can use it for proper purpose or cover a stool with it. I would rather a tin mug than a thick china one.

In that situation I buy coasters or mugs or postcards - coasters are great as they are actually useful if you want or are like mini prints you can display...

The mugs are lovely, but easily chip or break. I myself would buy placemats and coasters. Hope this helps. Actually I wouldn't mind your painting of the black horse on the said placemats or coasters.

Hmm. Place mats, bags or mugs I think - your paintings would look good on a larger space, a key ring won't do justice to them. Personally, I wouldn't buy a tin mug - they have a certain nostalgia but one is liable to get burnt fingers!

I found that fine bone china type mugs sold better than chunky square ones. I'd not seen the enamel ones before, I personally like them and would buy, but my Mom would prefer china.

Well it would be all about the price, the cheapest thing would be the first choice what ever that would be!! Then practical things such as a calendar if it was close to the new year. Mugs, birthday cards, and un matted unframed signed numbered prints.

The tin mug or the middle of the top three.

Bags, especially cloth bags and those pvc ? type tote bags, tea towels, place mats and coasters, keyrings and mugs would be somethings that would tempt me. I would admire cushions, mammal and bird ones are in vogue at the moment, but can be expensive and perhaps not sell as many. That's just my opinion though, and in order of preference.

Postcards and prints would be something that I would look at to frame when I got home. The tin mug was a delight and would be something that I would buy for a gift.

Add: also tote bags are very popular. Great to reduce the use of plastic bags. Regards, Pauline

A tote bag would be my first choice followed by the enamel mug.
