It Aint Half Hot Mum.

It really is!  So I have posted a video from You Tube which was an offshoot from the programme, It Aint Half Hot Mum.  Just for fun.  Two of the characters from the t.v. series, who can sing ?

Although hot, there was a breeze, but that was also warm.  Good for the man in the dinghy, the wind.  And the breeze good for me and my swollen ankles.

Not as many people on the beach today, though it was very overcast earlier, which may have put them off.

As there were less people, and dogs and children who hurtled towards the Gulls they were out in force.

Back home.

Three Spoonbills at our local bird reserve, Loch of Strathbeg, photo by Brian Sandison.  I began the painting in watercolour.  Still toying with doing it in pen and ink.  Hmm.

Sue in Suffolk.  Watercolour pencils.  I typed in "How to use caran d'ache watercolour pencils", and got loads of You Tube videos, I am not keen on videos but there you go.  And any watercolour pencil would work.

Basically colour in, then with wetted paint brush paint over, or dip pencil into water and proceed.  Some of the advice is how to cross hatch etc.  I still find watercolour in any of its forms more exciting than any other medium.  So go for it Sue x.

Very hot here in Yorkshire too.
Your photograph of the spoonbills is so very like a watercolour I have which was painted by an Inuit artist. I bought it some years ago in Northern Canada - it is such a restful painting and yet so full of movement.

So hot here in Derbyshire and no breeze.
How we all were wishing we only lived 30 minutes drive away from the coast. Sigh! :-)

Thank you for the tip, I was dipping in water but just making a mess......even when just colouring in pictures in a colouring book..........probably because I don't have an ounce of artistic talent!
I shall peruse utube

My goodness the video brought back some memories. Looking forward to seeing the end result of the seagulls, it looks so good thus far. We are still playing catch up here, the weather is still cool and sadly rain.
