Thursday.
Nobody warned me how difficult it would be to actually put on the compression stocking I have been anticipating for so long! The DP was hilarious reading out aloud the instructions, as it was he who had to put it on. He managed.
As you can see, and this was taken this evening, it worked. In that the left leg is almost the same size as the right. The puffiness in the foot was down to the stocking there not being pulled down towards the toes more.
So booted I went to the Prom.
A beautiful day weather wise. Sun, small wind, and not too cold.
Sea calmed down quite a lot.
So much so that the Lone Surfer exited the sea. Strange contraption on his surf board. In fact if he had been in ear shot I would have asked "Is that an ironing board?"
There were quite a few dog walkers on the beach today. This woman and dog I watched for some time as the dog really did not seem to be in her control. But then when I saw the photo and her expression I wondered who would go for the kill first, her or the dog! Do you think she has her hair coloured to match the dog, or was the dog chosen as it matched her hair? One has strange thoughts when people watching on the Prom.....
Back home and slogging on with creating Christmas Cards I espyed this Brambling in the garden. Whoooo. Some of our birdwatching friends have never seen one, so I am hoping it becomes a regular, second day now, then I can invite them all in to the Shedudio. And they might buy a painting - or two.
The DP was displaying some more of his photos in the dining room, he has taken it over......
So that was Thursday.

My mum had to wear a compression sock after she had knee surgery - my dad had to help put them on her and they had hysterics each time he had did.
I'm smiling about your battle putting the compression hose on lol i wear compression pants hose and they are the size of a small child's tights before I put them on, it's hard work! So tight but they make my life better so I do it, the photos are beautiful , really beautiful, I'm glad you got the dock on, if you go to Amazon there is a contraption gadget that helps to put them on, it's basically a stiff wire frame that the sock slips on then you slip your leg in I haven't saw one for full tights so I'm out of luck, lol
I saw an ad today in the supplement to my newspaper, which offers compression stockings with a zipper on the side. I don't know if those would be helpful or not. That is such a gorgeous photo taken by your husband, with all the birds in it.
I don't think I've ever seen a Brambling either- although it could get mixed up with the sparrows and I wouldn't notice.
Hope the stocking thingy does the trick
I once was called in to help an elderly neighbour with his post op stocking. As he'd taken it off in the night and couldn't get it back on !
We had such a giggle especially as the heating was on full so I was sweating like mad ! A happy moment, he and his sweet wife are no longer with us.
My friend has to wear those stockings and she bought some kind of frame that helps you wriggle into them easier.
They do say dogs look like their owners! I never like being on the beach with an out of control dog bounding around. I was savaged by two out of control Alsatians when only six - the mental scars are still there - they were much bigger than me! I am terrified of dogs off the lead but have to find a way to live with it as there are so many now. Everyone says - my dog won't bite - but I know they do!
How big is the Brambling in real life - it looks quite small judging by the size of the grass surrounding it?
Glad the stocking helped despite the fun and games getting it on. I did smile at your comments about the dog and its walker.
I am now having to put on and take off Tom's stockings, exactly like the one you are wearing. I need the strength of he-man to put them on but getting them off is easy. lol Glad they are working.

Compression stockings make your legs feel good, but what a to do. I recently have had to wear them and just getting the right size so they don't slip down was something.
