Whoops.

During the night I was in bed, got up for the loo and fell.  The DP rushed in and there was blood everywhere.  So 999.  Ambulance came parademics assessed me and I was off to Aberdeen Royal Inifirmary around midnight.

Lots of checks, x ray, blood, no bones broke.  Administered with Oxygen during all these tests as my oxygen sats .had plummeted but they came back up again.

Painkillers and bandaged.  I slept not a jot.  Collected by the DP we returned home.

My face and various other bits of me very colourful.  I am so bloody tired and at the same time scared it will happen again.

So Goodnight I hope.

So sad to see this. I know how easy it is to maybe turn and get of balance. Tom is getting a bit tottery sometimes.
I hang on for dear life when going up and down the stairs now and to think that I used to bound up and down our stairs once.
Hope it all heals nice and quickly for you.
You'll have to show the many colours that you will be getting as it heals.

Oh you poor thing, that looks awful. I'm wondering what you must have landed on to make such a long bruise. So glad you were dealt with so thoroughly at the hospital. It will not only shake you up and also take time to heal, but don't let it destroy your confidence. You are a strong and determined lady. Take time to rest and get well soon, the sea is calling, but it won't go anywhere.

Oh my goodness Jill - that looks so painful for you. The shock alone makes you feel very tired. Take care of yourself - I expect it will look worse before it gets better and goes through many changes of colour. x

Take care of yourself! It can be very disorienting getting up in the middle of the night in the dark.

I'm so sorry. Hope you are not in a lot of pain. BTW your actual eye color is beautiful.

Look at the bright side. Nothing broken and you're home. Unfortunately, these things happen.
Feel better soon!

Dear Jill, you have really suffered a terrible blow to your face and the rest of you. Did you have a light on or did this happen because it was dark? Thank goodness that you have the DP to be right there to help you. It looks as though you will need to rest up for a while as this would have certainly been a shock to your system. Take care.

Gosh Jill, you made a right mess of your face. I imagine it must be very sore. Do you have a light on the landing or something to go to the loo, or are you feeling around in the dark? We leave the light on in my wee office at the far end of the landing.

My heart goes out to you, wishing you a speedy recovery. Not sure if you were in the dark or not but we have plug in night lights that help.

Good morning Jill. You have been in the wars, haven’t you? A fall can be so shocking, but especially in the middle of the night.
Glad you had good care from the NHS.
Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Oh you poor thing. That must have really hurt, and the lasting shock is probably just as bad. I did something similar falling out of the shower (in bath) a few years ago and ended up in casualty with a huge lump on the back of my head. I was shaking for days. I try to be super careful now, but I've fallen a few times in diferent places. It happens so easily if we're not concentrating, and you must have been half-asleep anyway in the middle of the night.
Arnica and lots of rest now - take care.

So sorry this happened to you. Fear of falling is a rational fear, but hope that once you are able to get sufficient rest and begin to heal, you will and DP be able to assess what led to the fall and take any necessary actions (e.g. cane, night light, etc.) to help you regain some confidence and avoid another fall in the future.

Ouch. I am so glad that you got checked out at the hospital and they kept you in overnight.

Perhaps a night light would help you.

God bless.
