I read a book years ago (Don't lets go to the dogs tonight) in which the author described a local weather phenomenon as great 'purple fat clouds'. It stuck with me because we'd be more comfortable with the sound of 'fat, purple clouds', but with the emphsis on the purple i was able to imagine a sky like the one that gathered over you. Those pacdle-boarders are skilled. I fall off mine at the slightest ripple.

Looks like your plants got a good soaking. We could do with that here!
Wow! That's intense! But at least you could enjoy being inside and could work on some art...
Beautiful rainbow - I don’t think I have ever seen one over the sea before!

Lovely pictures of the prom and the sea.
I personally love a good rain storm. So refreshing for the yard and garden!
Gosh, that was coming down like ninepins! I bet you were glad not to get caught outside in it. Glad you had the beach to yourself.
Goodness me what a deluge Jill. At least you wouldn't have to water your pots that day.
Lovely pictures. I seem to have stopped following you for some reason and I don't know why. Oh well, here I am if you'll still have me.
It's meant to rain heavily all day here today. I'll be keeping myself busy indoors. X
That was quite the downpour.
