Reasons to be cheerful.

 Has to be the Shedudio.

How it was.  This is me viewing the house and discovering this in the back garden. 2011.  I had the COPD diagnosis so running a b&b was a no no and we needed to downsize.  But I was still fit and had no idea just how much COPD would limit my life.

A lot of work and pennies later this is how it now looks.  Insulated. Double glazed.  Wood burning stove.  Which we are still working out how I can continue to use as I am now on oxygen.

The work table.  Never looks this tidy.

My Grandkids love the Shedudio.

Just a few of the many created in the Shedudio.

My Sanctuary and road to sanity.  The Shedudio.

Reasons to be Cheerful.

Friends.  Blogging friends are very important to me.  On the down days particularly.  My spirits are always lifted.  I thank you all.

Cue the troll.  My one friend who visits.  She has had a stay in hospital. Has to watch her diet.  I can't remember the name of what is wrong but it can be dealt with.  My doctor said she could visit so she does.  Once a week for an hour, 2 metres apart.  She doesn't touch anything.  Troll does not like me doing this.  They should try walking in my shoes for a bit.

Other friends who stay in touch.  Frequently.  Daft but I could meet friends in a cafe.  But not in my house.  So something to arrange......

People I have met on the Prom.  I do not know their name but we chat and are sort of friends.  Like the man who I see most days shouted across today, "Battling on Quine."

Quine is lass, girl.  Lifted my spirits.

Another man who has had a leg removed and has a prosthesis.  I tell him " You are going faster than me.  Slow up."  He laughs.

Human interaction is special isnt it.

All the surfers look out for me and smile and wave.  That warms my spirit.#

Then there is nature.  We are so lucky.

Reasons to be cheerful.

Spoke to my daughter , Granddaughter and Grandson, and his friend, Grandson is 5 today.

My carer came this morning.  Washed head to toe. Up and at em.

Cleaning team arrived just after lunch.  I went down to the Shedudio.

When they had gone the DP and I went to the Prom.

Boats.  See how sunny it is!  Very cold tho. I walked.  Everyone I passed spoke to me.  I love that interchange.

Kite Surfers.  Nice to watch.  No desire to do!

Gulls.  Mainly Blackheaded.

Sunset on the way home.  About 4 p.m.

All reasons to be cheerful.  I can still do these things.

I will not dwell on the things I cannot do.  Thanks to fellow bloggers who inspire me to keep on.

Monday, 2 November 2020

Monday comes around.

And still reasonable weather.  Sunshine most of the day.  Gentle breeze.

Tomorrow carer then cleaning company.  So just doodling along today.

Prom after lunch.  I walked my whole walk.

Some boat movement today.

Still lots of seaweed coming up.  Not many birds around.

Blackheaded Gull in winter plumage.  Hence no black head.  Very noisy birds.  All alone on the beach.  It was a very high tide.  We have a full moon at the moment.

In one of the shelters.  A bike shed!  Including our neighbour who has an electric bike out with his cronies.

I went down to the Shedudio and looked at the pies of stuff to sort out.  Then I came back up to the house as the sun set.

My daughter in Lincoln is worried as their wrap around child care are unsure whether they are to continue or not.  So if she is expected to return to work she cant just leave her kids before the school day starts or after it finishes.

The nightmare continues.

Sunday.

Much better weather.  Wind eventually eased, it stopped raining and the sun came out.

 I walked.

A strangely dressed jogger.

Battleship on the horizon.  Probably to keep us in.

A wee surfer.

The untidy Shedudio.

November blooms and my tinkly Toadstools.

The cat.

Thats it for today.  Trying to assimilate all the changes in our lives.  Nae guid.

Halloween.

Watching my daughters great efforts for their kids this Halloween.  And glad I don't have to any more!

Is it storm Aidan beating us up now?  Our Prom visit showed how windy it was.

The car was rocking so we did not get out.  We drove on to Rosehearty.  Watched the many big boats sheltering.  Not able to get into harbour.

So I have missed my walk.  Feel as if I have had a totally wasted day.

Our cat is still visiting.  As are others.  When our neighbour died  the Cat Protection League were alerted as he had many feral cats.  They said they had got them all but possibly they missed some.  We will keep feeding and watching.

The Art Trail was a success and there were sales.  None of mine.  The DP sold some as did others.  The shops who joined in and displayed the art work want to know when we can do it again.  So that is good.  At the moment they are all doing windows with Halloween displays for the kids to go round and see.  Although today has really not been fit.

My daughter, partner and two young children live in Lincoln.  So the lockdown.  She has been working from home since the last one.  The kids just back to school.  Which is continuing open.  Not sure I agree with that.

What a mess.

Friday.

This anxiety lark is wearing.  I have a carer twice a week.  I know the carer but I still get anxious.  Have I got the clothes ready, in the right order.  Have I taken all my pills.  Is my bladder empty.  Just stupid.

So she came.  I am washed and moisturised and dressed.  And totally exhausted.  Stupid.

The DP was away to do the shopping.  He prefers shopping to having it delivered. His choice.  Gives him a break from me!

This cat keeps coming back.  Very nervy and suspicious of people.  Well we two.

Persuaded the DP to give it some Tuna.  Which he did.  When he came back from shopping there were some cat food sachets....  It has had one.

In the afternoon we went to the surgery.  The DP had to have blood taken for testing for his Prostate cancer levels.  Then we went to the Prom.

Cold again.  Short walk.

The Gull Gang masses of them.

My friend is home from hospital.  She has to keep a dietary diary to establish what causes her bowel to object and become infected.  Scary.  Just glad she is home.

Looks as if we are heading for a national lockdown.  So depressing.  But if it works all good.
