My Art facebook page is Buchan Birds and Beasts. ( One day it will title my web site......) ( when I get to grips with it.)
In the main that is what I draw and paint. The birds and beasts are what I see every day. I watch sea birds from the Stevenson Tea Room in the Lighthouse Museum.
And as I drive there and to I see the beasts in the fields.
From the Shedudio I watch the garden birds.
Not many penguins.
As many of you know my husband, the Dawn Patroller, also loves the birds (particularly) and will take photographs of the beasts (with my voice in his head, on and on, I must be able to see the eyes......), is not a bad photographer and tramps aroond and aboot so doing.
My physical disability limits me from door to car, car to door and a seat at the other side.
So to have him is one big bonus, (in many areas I hasten to add.)
Recently asked to paint - a Penguin - I looked to the DP. Not exactly Buchan but in Scotland, where Buchan is, is also Edinburgh Zoo. To which he had gone with the grandchildren. Possibly to see a Panda..... But he also saw Penguins!
One happy customer.
Now once I become inspired I do tend to get stuck in a groove. So more followed.
And more
Ok, not from Edinburgh. These were from the Antarctic. Just happened to have a friend who has just returned.....
And more fromEdinburgh
Macaroni Penguin.
So when I was asked to paint another Penguin.......
"Nae bother."
First day out of sick bed - down to my framers. (He just made me laugh and nearly choke. Something about someone wanting a painting of .......)

Past,present and future.
Strange week. Strange experiences of there being one topic of conversation wherever you went and whoever you were with. Independence. Scottish Independence. Mixed emotions.
Very interesting debates.
And despite the press reports - no death threats. Not one person questioning my right to vote, albeit I am English.
Throughout my faith in human nature was continually renewed. People cared, cared about each other, their neighbour, their country.
Now the votes have been counted. The great vote is now history. In the past. One question remains - will the English politicians keep their promises? That is in the future.
Back in the present. Been struggling to find time to paint. Odd bits here and there.
Skurries (Herring Gulls.)
Pod of Dolphins.
Sussex Light Hens on a fence.
Love these two, almost finished.
I have been asked to exhibit in November at Archies Art. To raise funds for Aberdeen Childrens Hospital.
The list of artists whew. Proper artists...... I am honoured to be invited.
The ones I will be putting in are all away being framed. So thats the future. I will show you later, when they are done.
On Monday past I went for another assessment. With mixed feelings I learnt I had been awarded....
So in the future I will be able to go where I want to go.

To Cat Lovers - everyone else sorry.
Update. Minerva McGonnagall. She who had leg dislocated from hip by feral cat has patiently endured house arrest for weeks. The reinsertion (?) by vet has held up. In. Today was release day.
This is Minerva some time ago with my granddaughter, who was being introduced to A CAT.
Min had her collar replaced with magnet to open cat flap and after some considerable sniffing ever inch of the outer door ventured out - and disappeared. She has returned, exhausted. But with four legs working. Presumably been checking out that the fields are still there.
Cait Sith is still on steroids, eating, eating, eating. He has gained weight. But his red blood cells have not increased as much as they hoped. Further blood tests await. But he seems happy enough.
I am gearing up for the North East Open Studios where our Art Group exhibits at the Lighthouse Museum. Lots of paintings been mounted and framed.
"I was just having me tea." one to be mounted.
And, "Oh We Do Like to be beside the Seaside - not.." another.
Painting of which takes ones mind off worrying about cats.
