Exhibition set up.

Today was setting up and displaying all the entered work.  I was at home glowering at the weather outside.  Mist, rain, cool.  Yeuk.  My carer came at 10 and hosed me down.

Three Canvases.

And the big boys.

6 Crafters setting up their tables.

All these are upstairs.  You can see the refreshment area to the right here.

Downstairs are the Crafters and the Guest Artist and Photographer.  Throughout the hall the Community Challenge efforts are displayed.

My printer kept telling me it was out of ink even though I had replaced all the inks.  So a panic order to Argos and I now have a new printer to set up.  The printer is a Canon and cost £29.99.  The inks cost £39.99.  This does not make sense.

I have not been out today.  So I have withdrawal symptoms.

This photograph was taken by my friend James Alexander. Which perfectly illustrates why I have not been out today.  Misty, wet and cold.  I had the stove lit in the shedudio.  And the woodburner in the sitting room is now lit.

The wet garden and birds this evening.  We had a Chinese takeaway as the DP had been at Dalrymple Hall all day.

Tomorrow is open to public day. Also Sunday.  And then its all over.  And breathe.  And then start looking for a new car.  There is always something.

Stressed a lot.

I think the DP and I are about ready to retire again.  The Art exhibition this coming weekend has become a nightmare.  One of our friends and also member of the Art group which is putting on the exhibition has run on her own the Community Challenge we set every year.  This year its Under the Sea.  Taken up enthusiastically by schools, church groups etc.

Some of the exhibits from the Community Challenge.

Our friend liaises with all the schools and groups providing paper etc.  She collects the finished work and then when the hall where we exhibit is open she starts to put up the exhibits the week before the exhibition. As there are so many of them.  One of the Art groups meeting at the hall has complained to the Council that she was doing this on 'their time' so we now have the threat that a charge will be made.  This Art Group was one of the founder members of the exhibition.  How nasty they are as things have not always been as they liked. Really leaves a nasty taste.

Very high humidity again today so the DP accompanied me to the Prom.

How it looked when we arrived.  Then the Haar rolled in.

It followed us home, the Haar.  Then it rained a lot.  No thunder, though it was forecast.

Soggy Siskin.

And damp Mr and Mrs Hoover.

The DP is down at the Dalrymple Hall taking in other artists and photographers exhibits and ours to be hung tomorrow.  Full day of setting up the exhibition.  I have been sat waiting for the chap who makes the trophies for Best in Show visitor votes for Artist and Photographer.  He has been rather busy so he is now coming tomorrow.  See what I mean STRESSFUL.

Totally Cream CRACKERED.

The kids have gone home.  Phew.

The DP and I went to the Prom.

Humidity in the 90s it is always that bit fresher by the sea.  I walked.  It was very overcast.  Mist on the horizon.

Most of the Gull Gang to the left of the beach by the rocks.

Stonecrop growing wild along the Prom.  Beautiful.

More Gulls by the Kessock Burn.

Not a human in sight.

Apart from the DP.

A distant dog walker.

So the gang could gather.

Triceratops is finished.

A very misty end to the day.

Well it wasnt the actual end.  I have been printing off stuff for the exhibition this weekend and as expected the ink has run out.  So no way am I going to be finished tonight.  Tomorrow is another day.  Goodnight.

The Terrible Twos.

Our youngest grandson is two and a bit.  At dinner time he and I had a face off.  That stare from him was enough to have me pushing up daisies.  But I won.  No pudding til he had eaten one more spoonful of his pasta.  Ok it took a very long half an hour to win the victory but win I did.

Both the DP and I are exhausted!  The DP went off with the daughter and three offspring to the local Prison Museum.  I kid you not.  Peterhead Prison was closed and a mega large super prison replaced it.  So it was transformed by a local businessman into a museum. It is not disabled friendly.  Lots of walking and steps which is why I didnt go.

Great ideas in the gift shop.  I want one!

On their return our daughter and two eldest finished planting out our hedge plants!  The DP had done most of the 98 but there was still a gap.  Thrilled.

Then the two elder came and did some art work in the Shedudio with me.  The eldest did a fantastic painting of the prison, sadly I have not got a photograph of that.  But will get one before they go.  Middle grandson and I were doing dinosaurs.  He did a Tyrannosaurus.  I did a Triceratops.  On a card for my grandson, not present, but his birthday is on Saturday and like most of them he is a Dinosaur fanatic.

Mine needs a bit more pen to do the wrinkles on his skin.  Possibly some shadows where his feet land.  But I was quite pleased to be painting again.

While they were all off at the Prison I visited the Prom.  It has rained all day and is still at it, though there were breaks which allowed the hedge planting.  It rained while I was at the Prom.  But I got out.

Three Blackheaded Gulls as wet as me.

The wet Prom with Tiger Hill in the background.  Not many others around as daft or determined as me.

The family are back to Edinburgh tomorrow.  I would like to collapse in a heap but the exhibition at the weekend looms and I have loads of typing, printing and laminating to do.  The DP has got all the banners up and road side signs he has made are up.  Of course I still have a replacement car to buy, although thankfully the current one is still behaving.

Also I have to wrap up and label my entries to the exhibition and fill in the entry forms. Oh I have to print them off first and for the DP.  And so it goes on.

DP and me = the Terrible Twos.

Somewhat calmer.

A beautiful day.  No humidity affecting me.

Our family, eldest daughter and three grandsons landed around lunch time but they had had a picnic on the way up and we had had our lunch.  So it was off to the Prom.

Eldest and youngest grandchild.

Eldest grandchild.

With his brother in the middle of the three.

The DP and family.

There is me leaning over the railings.

Lots of boats out today.  I believe it is the Herring season.  As these are mainly small boats I guess they are just getting the Herring for themselves.  Very popular fish round here.  Herring in Oatmeal being a choice of many.

Two surfers of the female variety.  Not much surfing waves.

The kids played in our garden on our return.  Just running on the grass.  And tumbling.  Fish and Chips for tea/dinner.  Now they are all in bed.  The adults are exhausted!

No humidity today.  So most enjoyable day.  Looking forward to another tomorrow.
