Chill.

Trying hard to chill out.  I am exhausted from being so anxious about stuff.  Silly.

I should start doing lists of things I have done instead of ones of things to do.....!

Prom. Tick.

Cold, windy and wet.  Wet was not forecast.

Plenty birds.

A mixture of Blackheaded and Herring Gulls.

Lots of Redshank in various poses.  A painting in mind here.

Redshank running!

Oystercatchers.

The only others on the Prom were, in the main, smaller than me.

Back home.  Looking out on the gloom and rain and wind.

In the warm.

Making room.

To start painting.

And chill.

I was thinking about you having to 'Pace yourself' and it kept going around and around my head. As it twirled around it changed to 'be kind to yourself'.

Today's post made me think that yes, making sure you get your vitamin Sea (with or without added rain), you get painting time, you are snug in your studio then you are doing just that - being kind to yourself.

I find list writing and the satisfying crossing out of the words most enjoyable (even been known to add something down that I have done and then immediately crossing out with a flourish!)

In the run up to Christmas I think every wife/woman could write a long list of things which need her attention. Your list should be short - Vitamin Sea, Painting, Keeping Warm, Resting. Those are the important things.

I finally see some time to play Catch Up here - prime thing to do is to FINISH painting our bedroom as all my husband's clothes are out of the wardrobe and until our son arrives tomorrow, we can't take it apart and move it so I can paint behind it, and only then can it all go back. SUCH a mess and muddle at the moment. Mind you, the other unfinished work also needs to be finished but OH getting there with grouting the shower room (this has been a WIP for over a year now, due to his frozen shoulder.)

Funny, even before I read your caption about painting the four birds photo, my first thought was that it would make a great painting subject. Great light, shadows and poses.

I read somewhere that if you just smile to yourself it is an instant lift to your mood, it does work for me.

That blessed, blessed man -- your husband. Always keeping the homes fires burning.

Bovey Belle expresses it beautifully. I second her sentiment. Have a lovely day.
