Totally - but totally - Quackers.

Now these wee beasties are going to be placed at each of the Visitor Attractions in and aroond Fraserburgh.

There are 13 of them.  (Some yet to be painted by moi.)

Then to raise yet more money for The Willows and to raise the profile for tourists and locals alike a quiz sheet will be sold.  Answers to the quiz can only be found by visiting the Visitor Attraction and correctly identifying the duck .  For instance.  Green Duck -= Lighthouse Museum. (Though that is not the answer! No cheating.)

Now this is where we go totally Quackers.

This is Fraser.  A very large plastic duck.

Fraser is our Ambassaduck.  He will journey all over to promote the tourism industry of Fraserburgh and area.

He is away to Glasgow this weekend.  He is booked for Dundee.  A trip/rescue by  the Fraserburgh Life boat, I hope they don't lose him......A trip to Norway.  Once in parts abroad contact will be made by his carer with the local tourism office there and we will share our information.  Fraser will indeed be an Ambassaduck!

Told you  -  totally Quackers.

And finally I have to show you the picture of the originator of Fraserburgh Yellow Ducks.  He bought the first ducks and placed them on fences to raise a smile , nothing more, nothing less.

We managed to persuade him to reveal himself.  What a lovely chap.

Fraserburgh Beach (Broch Beach).

The Dawn Patroller, recently, won a wee photographic competition.

For some time, on Facebook, there has been a page for Fraserburgh Photos through the Years.  Which is really very interesting.  Did you know that there were more bombs dropped on Fraserburgh than most places?  As this was the last bit before the Germans returned home so they jettisoned what they had left.

But new photographs kept being put up.

On the original page there were lots of comments about, "Ah - what the beach was like.....what the town was like.. " and so on, and as more recent photos crept in they DID NOT LIKE IT.

So alongside that page we now have New Fraserburgh Photos.  Which to be honest show just as much beauty, activity, etcetera as the old.  (Without reference to the war.)

Each month there is a heading, last month was Harbour and Beach.  The DP won the months competition with the above.  Which went somewhere to silencing the "We wont see the beach like that again."  (in the 50s.)  Well, no, different clothing but still plenty people.  Although I am told the vast majority of people using the beach are not from Fraserburgh.  But TOURISTS.  Which for some is a surprise.  Tourists?  Why would they come here?  How long have you got for me to tell you why?

The last weekend saw the Scottish Windfest Tour.  Kite Surfers Gathered, had competitions, (apart from there being no wind at all on day one!)

Fantastic fun.  On Fraserburgh Beach 2014.

Happenings in the Broch and surrounds.

Yesterday and today saw the Scottish Kite Buggy Championships on Fraserburgh (the Broch) beach.

The beach is quite something.  Beautiful golden sands with a backdrop of dunes..

The biggest of the dunes is called Tiger Hill.  No-one is clear as to why the name was given.  I always thought it looked like a sleeping tiger from where I viewed it (the car park).  But of course dunes move around a bit so it may be significantly different to when it was first given the name.

The beach side cafe is called Tiger Cafe.

It must be quite difficult to harness the wind, to ensure you go in the right direction.  Though the DP did say it all seemed quite chaotic!

People surf here every day.  And we have the Surfing Championship some years.

Now who would have thought that happened in the North East of Scotland?

What really p****s me 0ff is that no-one knew this championship was happening.  Absolutely no publicity whatsoever.  One despairs.  Here are we trying to promote the area and all it has to offer.  Aaaaargh.

On the agricultural side of things, equally if not more important, we are now seeing lambs.  Probably later than elsewhere in the country.  But you never know what the winter is going to throw at you..  This year there has been a lot of supplementary feeding as we, like everyone else, had so much rain.  We havent had any snow which is very strange.

When the sheep first give birth the small field at the top of our road becomes the nursery.  And they are gathered into it and get their bums painted , with a number, as I went past today I noticed that number 6 ewe had three babies with 6 on their bums.  Once everything looks to be all well they are moved to a big field.  Hope number 6 copes.

Any field that doesnt have livestock in it is being ploughed.  Where the sheep were across the road from our house has been ploughed.  The sheep had all gained the required weight eating neeps....and had gone off to the abattoir.  The field to our rear has also been ploughed.  That has had Barley in it since we came here, whether there will be a change this year remains to be seen.  Where we lived before it would have been Oil Seed Rape but just 12 miles away they dont seem to go in for that.

On the home front.  It has taken me 4 weeks to 'do a bit' of decluttering.  No photos as I was so ashamed.  I can now visit the loo in the night without falling over stuff.  Floor cleared.  Bag to charity shop, bag of rubbish, bag of rags.  Plus lots of other shall I shant I in bags and then stashed away in the wardrobes.  Neatly of course.

This morning I also got so fed up of waking and wanting to go straight back I did a few of my physiotherapy exercises.  It worked.  Allelulia.

Lovely day!

Look up the lyrics, Bill Withers, A Lovely Day, one of my most favourite songs.

Today was one such.  I set off driving from Lonmay to Keith.  Quite a trek, and these days an

expensive one with car fuel costs.  But well worth it.  The weather, blue skies, not much wind, and w -a-a-a-rm.  Heavenly.  Driving along what a beautiful place I live in.  Yay.

And then - meeting up again with Christine, from  http://christinelaennec.co.uk/ and Tina from
thequiethomeblog.wordpress.com  do hope I have these links right.

Cappucinos, Lattes, yummy cakes.  Lots of chat and catch ups.  We are all looking a wee bit worried that the waitress knows how to work our individual cameras!

We exhanged gifts.  We exchanged stories of our lives at the moment.  Some stuff that does not appear on our blogs, well not just yet!

Isnt blogging, meeting like minded friends just great!

Then I am sure for the three of us it was back to real life.

I called in at the Lighthouse Museum, for lunch,   And eventually left at 4 p.m. Tourists in their droves, an un - planned coach load of tourists from Yorkshire, so I was in my element being able to understand everything that was said!!  Now home, shattered, and no, I didnt have my lunch.

Lovely day.
