More food boxes.

Arrived today.  This to be weekly and we get a box each.  It is embarrassing.  How could one person eat that much in a week?  Well I couldn't.  I still haven't heard from a supermarket with a slot.  Once got I can stop the boxes for someone more worthy.  I could reduce to one box.  There is enough for us both.  But we both like ground coffee and Nescafe sachets are the pits.  No wine either!  Sorry to be so sniffy, I am sure I will get hit by the trolls.  But truthful I am.  So the DP still has to go to the shops.  For Sith cat if for no other reason.  There aint no cat food in the boxes.

Our butcher delivers and brings glass bottled milk.  And takes away the empty bottle.

Still on the hunt for a new mattress.  Our usual place appears to be shut so I may have to try John Lewis.  Do they take away the old mattress though?

Peace of mind down the Prom.

Gull Gang en masse.  I could hear Oystercatchers but not see them.  Ploughed up and down the Prom.  Feel so good when done.  Physically and mentally.

Now in a group of Sketch a day on facebook.

Wren.

Now off to wind down and Solitaire.  Stay safe all.

P.S. 1600 in Scotland got better.

Just keep laughing.

My lovely carer this morning.  So am now squaky clean and moisturised, so no longer squeaky.

Then the grass cutting gang.

Ooo -er strimmer picked up a stone.  A joiner was down in minutes and measured up for a replacement.  As his suppliers are closed for the lock down he is to try online.  So how long not sure.  But we still have the internal pane to look through and the gardener removed all the broken glass.

Late afternoon I dropped the DP off at the supermarket and went to the Prom.  A pound up and down the Esplanade and then back to pick him up.

Lovely sunny day but chilly in the wind.

Our details have been given to all the supermarkets for them to offer us a slot for the vulnerable.  So far we have Asda in Edinburgh who sent my daughter  a slot.  Well she does have the same surname......but is not vulnerable, over 70 or with underlying medical problems.  Hence the trip to Tesco for the DP to shop.....

Just keep laughing.

The DP has a bad back.

Oh woe.  No appointment at the docs.  Our friendly chemist supplied co co thingy.  He has sharp twinges.  The pills are dulling the twinges.  I think we need a new mattress on the spare bed he is sleeping on at the moment.  Not sure I can get one in the lock down.  We shall see.

Gull Gang.

An Oystercatcher having had a bath.

I pounded up and down the deserted prom.

Down the Shedudio and begun a Common Crane.

Sith cat decides to drink out of the water garden.  Huh.

Smile!

As we enter the next 3 weeks of lockdown here is a summary of the advice:
1. You MUST NOT leave the house for any reason, but if you have a reason, you can leave the house
2. Masks are useless at protecting you against the virus, but you may have to wear one because it can save lives, but they may not work, but they may be mandatory, but maybe not
3. Shops are closed, except those shops that are open
4. You must not go to work but you can get another job and go to work
5. You should not go to the Drs or to the hospital unless you have to go there, unless you are too poorly to go there
6. This virus can kill people, but don’t be scared of it. It can only kill those people who are vulnerable or those people who are not vulnerable people. It’s possible to contain and control it, sometimes, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster
7. Gloves won't help, but they can still help so wear them sometimes or not
8. STAY HOME, but it's important to go out
9. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarkets, but there are many things missing. Sometimes you won’t need loo rolls but you should buy some just in case you need some
10. The virus has no effect on children except those children it affects
11. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there…
12. Stay 2 metres away from tigers (see point 11)
13. You will have many symptoms if you get the virus, but you can also get symptoms without getting the virus, get the virus without having any symptoms or be contagious without having symptoms, or be non contagious with symptoms...
14. To help protect yourself you should eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand as it's better not to go out shopping
15. It's important to get fresh air but don't go to parks but go for a walk. But don’t sit down, except if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant or if you’re not old or pregnant but need to sit down. If you do sit down don’t eat your picnic
16. Don’t visit old people but you have to take care of the old people and bring them food and medication
17. If you are sick, you can go out when you are better but anyone else in your household can’t go out when you are better unless they need to go out
18. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house. These deliveries are safe. But groceries you bring back to your house have to be decontaminated outside for 3 hours including Pizza...
19. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but they can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver
20. You are safe if you maintain the safe social distance when out but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance
21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours ... or four hours... six hours... I mean days, not hours... But it needs a damp environment. Or a cold environment that is warm and dry... in the air, as long as the air is not plastic
22. Schools are closed so you need to home educate your children, unless you can send them to school because you’re not at home. If you are at home you can home educate your children using various portals and virtual class rooms, unless you have poor internet, or more than one child and only one computer, or you are working from home. Baking cakes can be considered maths, science or art. If you are home educating you can include household chores to be education. If you are home educating you can start drinking at 10am
23. If you are not home educating children you can also start drinking at 10am
24. The number of corona related deaths will be announced daily but we don't know how many people are infected as they are only testing those who are almost dead to find out if that's what they will die of… the people who die of corona who aren’t counted won’t be counted
25. You should stay in lock down until the virus stops infecting people but it will only stop infecting people if we all get infected so it’s important we get infected and some don’t get infected
26. You can join your neighbours for a street party and turn your music up for an outside disco and your neighbours won’t call the police. People in another street are allowed to call the police about your music
27. No business will go down due to Coronavirus except those businesses that will go down due to Coronavirus

Well I did!

My day.

Because of having severe COPD I have been avoiding crowds, people, shops, cafes etc so as not to pick up a chest infection which further damages my lungs, for far longer than this virus has been around.

But it is important to exercise.  Good for the lungs and my bone density.  It is not me being selfish.  If I do not exercise my diseases will worsen and I will be in hospital over burdening the NHS.  Exercise is also good for my mental health.

To accuse me of being selfish etc is cruel.  I did not choose this disease.  I cannot inflict it on anyone else.  It limits my life big time.  So I do my bit to lessen my demands on the NHS. Why do people have a problem with that?  Not just now but always as much as I can.

So I went to the Prom.  Late in the day when there are very few people around.  I use oxygen when exercising.  Otherwise the exercise puts a strain on my heart.  Boy is that selfish!

I do not enjoy defending myself, nor should I have to.

For those who like to see what I see - here are my photographs.

I hope the commentator does not get any pleasure from my responding to them as its pity I feel for them.  What a way to get satisfaction.

Hands up who has had enough.

Still goes on and on.  Praying for all even though I am not religious.

Today's sunset.

In England new explanations of what you can and cant do under lockdown.  You can now  drive to somewhere for exercise.  Not in Scotland.

The DP and I drove to the Prom.  On the way we examined closely the road from our house.  It is a narrow country lane and the verges are vertical.  No way I could get out of the way of a vehicle.  Tractors would just have to trundle on behind until I got to a gate way!  So still driving to exercise.

I am walking much faster now.  Sign the fitness increasing.  I will not be able to extend to walking the path of doom between the Dunes as I dont think its wide enough there to pass,
with a big enough space, another walker.

I did some painting.

Long Tailed Tits have a pale pink tinge round their nether parts.

Tired now and on overload with all the news rubbish.

Goodnight.  Off for the 9 hours of continuous low dosage oxygen.

This and that.

The DP went for his blood test for his Prostate Cancer.  In through the back door of the surgery after ringing the bell.  I made him wear a mask.

Another beautiful sunny day.

Did some painting.

Long Tailed Tit.

Late afternoon I drove the DP to the supermarket.  Hardly anyone in there he told me.

I went to the Prom and walked.  Really feeling my fitness levels improving now.

Good to see the Gull Gang.  With not many people or dogs we are all enjoying the chance to relax!

Some small boats.  Difficult to do social distancing on the larger boats.  Plus the fish processing factories are shut .

So at least another three weeks of shutdown.  Hang on in there.
